The Cycle of Dependency

You know that moment at 3pm when you're staring at your screen, already thinking about your next coffee? Not because you want one. Because you need one. That's where this started for me.

I spent most of my career in London finance, where high pressure is the default. Coffee wasn't a habit, it was the architecture of my day. First thing in the morning to feel human. Mid-morning to stay sharp. After lunch to push through.

If you've worked in a culture like that, you'll know: caffeine isn't a perk, it's infrastructure. And when things got stressful? More coffee, which fuelled the stress, which wrecked the sleep, which meant reaching for a stronger cup the next morning. The cycle tightens gradually. You don't notice until you're already deep in it.

What Caffeine Isn't Telling You

The thing is, I didn't think I had a problem. Caffeine is the one drug nobody tells you to worry about. Health influencers will happily list its benefits. Nobody talks about what happens when your baseline shifts, when you're no longer drinking coffee to feel good, just to feel normal.

So I tried cutting back. Cold turkey lasted two days before the headache won. Tapering worked until it didn't.

That frustration sent me down a rabbit hole. What I found was eye-opening. Caffeine has a half-life long enough to quietly wreck your sleep even if you stop at noon. It can drive anxiety, disrupt your gut. We've built our days around a stimulant whose downsides are hiding in plain sight.

Discover The Science

"When you're no longer reliant on something just to reach your baseline, everything changes."

Achieve More With Less

So I built the thing I wished had existed.

Uncaffed is a supplement protocol designed to support your body through a caffeine reset, cutting the symptoms and helping restore your natural energy, focus, and calm. No white-knuckling it. No pretending decaf is the answer.

The biggest gain isn't cutting caffeine out. It's losing the reliance on it. When you're no longer dependent on something just to reach your baseline, everything shifts. Sleep gets deeper. Thinking gets sharper. Your energy is actually yours.

I'm not anti-coffee. I still have the occasional cup, on my terms, because I want to. That's the difference.
